The Dictators Go Girl Crazy! was the first album recorded by a New York punk group, it's also one of the best. Sadly, they don't get the recognition they deserve. Steven Van Zandt called them "The connective tissue between the eras of The MC5, Stooges, NY Dolls, and the punk explosion of the mid to late 1970's". If you're interested in early punk roots, this is a must. There's also a Sonny & Cher cover on here. It's better than the original... way better.
